Outdoorsman marketplace to raise money for Millville fire hall Jan. 12

January 12, 2019

The Millville Volunteer Fire Company will host its inaugural outdoorsman marketplace from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12. Presented by the Voice Radio Network's The Vault Classic Rock 103.5 and 102.9, the event will help raise money for a new fire hall.

Vendors will be on site from outdoorsman arenas including hunting, fishing, boating, RVs, cooking, photography and much more. There will be a few craft vendors in the nautical arena. All vendors/businesses have quality inventory for attendees to purchase. This is not a flea market.

Entry fee for the public will be $3 and include a door prize ticket. Children 14 and under will be admitted free, and each will receive a kid's door prize ticket. There will also be a ticket auction, a 50/50 and a gun raffle.

Atlantic Tactical Firearms Trainers representatives will bring their firearms simulator. A charge of $5 for 5 minutes on the simulator will be donated to the fire company. The awesome training video game is a blast to use, pun intended. This will be set up in a side room near the main entrance. There are different modes and games including balloon animals and zombies, and life fire situations for training.

Breakfast and lunch will be prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary, sponsored by Al Casapulla's and Hocker’s Markets. Beer will also be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., sponsored by Holt’s Wine and Spirits.

For the gun raffle, it is important for participants to know ahead of time that they must pass a background check to participate. If people know they cannot own a gun, they cannot try to win one.

Guns will be raffled with a deck of cards per gun, 54 cards in the deck (jokers included), $20 per card. Some guns will be $10 per card. Guns are donated by G & E Hardware and have to be picked up at the store the day after the event, Sunday, Jan. 13. There will be no cash equivalent, and participants must be sure they can pass a background check prior to participating in the raffle. Chances are nontransferable. All monies raised will benefit the Millville Volunteer Fire Company.
