Rehoboth Beach man charged in robbery

A Rehoboth Beach man wanted after a March 1 robbery has been charged following a Milford traffic stop.

Christopher Boone, 29, was in the unit block of Pebble Drive, Rehoboth Beach at 4:59 p.m. when he assaulted and robbed a 23-year-old man, said Sgt. Richard Bratz of the Delaware State Police.

Boone took the man’s cellphone and money; the victim was transported by EMS to a local area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, Bratz said.

On March 11, Boone was stopped while driving in Milford and he was taken back to Troop 4, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police. He was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and second-degree conspiracy. Boone was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $72,000 secured bond.
