AARP Chapter 4903 to meet March 23
At the February meeting of AARP Chapter 4903, Past President Chick Barrar spoke about volunteering to deliver for Meals on Wheels.
Barrar said the program delivers more than 230,000 meals annually to eligible homebound seniors in Sussex County. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday and on holidays.
Designed to meet various types of diets, meals are analyzed and supervised by a registered dietician and CHEER outreach workers who are trained to offer referrals for home health services, transportation and all aging services when appropriate.
Denise D. Nordheimer will speak at the next luncheon at noon, Wednesday, March 27, at Ocean Grill in the Shoppes at Long Neck, Millsboro. She is principal attorney at Nordheimer Law LLC, which handles estate planning, trusts, Medicaid planning and adult guardianship matters.
