Lewes Canalfront Park to host annual egg hunt April 20

April 7, 2019

To celebrate the arrival of spring, Lewes Canalfront Park will host its annual egg hunt from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 20, recommended for kids ages 10 and younger.

In support of one of the most popular community events in the Cape Region, Friends of Lewes Canalfront Park have stuffed a record-breaking  9,000 eggs with candy, trinkets, and treasures that will be hidden all over the beautiful park for happy little egg hunters. Egg hunt treats are nut-free and food-allergy friendly. The park is at 211 Front St., on the banks of the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal in historic Lewes.

The egg hunt will begin at 11 a.m. sharp, but fun-seekers can come at 10 a.m. for activities including photos with the Easter bunny, face painting and balloon artistry. The fun will happen rain or shine, but in the event of heavy rain, the hunt could move to the parking lot. Attendees should bring baskets, bags or buckets to collect their goodies.

Tickets are $5 for a single child and $10 for two or more children in a family. Advance registration is encouraged; go to www.lewescanalfrontpark.org.

Since there will be no printed tickets, attendees should arrive as early as 10 a.m. to check in for the egg hunt and enjoy the activities. To reach the information and weather hotline, call 302-645-2795. Updates also will be posted on the Lewes Canalfront Park Facebook page.
