Cape High, Mariner and Beacon Middle students explored careers in science, technology, engineering and math at Sussex County’s first DigiGirlz Day May 15 at Delaware Technical Community College.
Cape STEAM specialist Robin Corrozi said students were nominated by their math and science teachers to attend the day-long event focused on girls.
“We live in an area dominated by the service industry, so it’s important for them to be exposed to other industries and see what’s out there,” Corrozi said.
In the morning, students rotated through tabletop stations on topics such as game design, drones, 3D digital art, mixed-reality robotic coding, circuitry and photo/video editing before choosing a track to focus on in afternoon workshops.
