Milton 8-10 All-Stars win two in District 3 play

Squad to play Tuesday in semifinals

The Milton 8-10 All-Stars defeated Laurel 9-6 July 5 and Woodbridge 5-2 July 6 to advance to the semifinals Tuesday, July 9, against Lower Sussex. 

Trig Joseph, Ryan Coulbourne, Aaden Johnson, Liam Mitchell and Logan Smith all had hits against Laurel. Austin Guerrieri got on base three times via the walk.

Joseph pitched two innings, allowing one Laurel hit and one unearned run. Coulbourne pitched 1 2/3 innings, giving up two hits and striking out three. Johnson finished the pitching chores with 1 1/3 innings, not allowing a hit, giving up one run and striking out three.

Milton remained as hot as the muggy weather July 6 against Woodbridge.

Dominic Mangini went 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Johnson went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Mitchell was 2-for-2 from the plate. Coulbourne delivered with a hit and two runs scored. Trizton Willey and Trey Dickinson each had a single, with Dickinson picking up an RBI.

Mitchell picked up the win on the mound, pitching four innings, allowing no runs and striking out seven batters. Willey came in from the bullpen, allowing two runs with five strikeouts.

Milton’s semifinal game July 9 will be played in Milton. Game time is 7 p.m.
