Rehoboth Elementary Principal Amanda Archambault has been tapped as the district’s new supervisor of elementary education.

“It’s bittersweet to leave the kids,” she said. “I love Rehoboth Elementary, but this is an exciting opportunity to support teachers in all the elementary schools, and see the great things happening throughout the district.”

Archambault begins her new role July 6, succeeding long-time educator Donna Kolakowski, who retires in August. 

“It’s so nice to be able to collaborate with her before she leaves,” Archambault said. “I have big shoes to fill.”

A 1994 Cape High grad, Archambault began her career in education as a paraprofessional at the Sussex Consortium, and later earned her teaching certificate. She was named consortium teacher of the year in 2009. 

In 2011, she took a position as a fifth-grade teacher at Shields Elementary, where she earned teacher of the year honors in 2017, the same year she accepted a position as consortium assistant principal.

In 2018, Archambault was named principal at Rehoboth Elementary, which was one of two Delaware schools to earn national recognition for gains in bridging the achievement gap in 2019.

She and husband Ryan have two children; Chase is a rising eighth-grader at Beacon Middle, and Haley is a rising sophomore at Cape High.
