Bruce Allen Hudson, loved playing the guitar

Bruce Allen Hudson, 65, of Frankford, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2021, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md.  He was born May 18, 1956, in Lewes, the son of the late Gerald R. Hudson and Louise M. Hudson, who resides in Frankford (Omar). He is also the grandson of the late Asher and Norma Hudson, and Norman and Minnie Mitchell of Frankford.  Bruce attended Indian River High School in Dagsboro and went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy.  He was honorably discharged in 1977. Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, construction, knife and gun collecting, horseback riding, and most would remember him by his love for playing the guitar.  He was the former owner of Hudson and Son LLC construction company and former vice president of the Bureau of Land Management Wild Horse & Burro Association local chapter. Bruce lived his life as if each day was his last, with no regrets. His family and love for his animals were what brought a smile to his face most days.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Lynn Hudson (Roth), his daughter Heather LeVonde Hitchens Wallace (grandchildren: Matthew Hitchens of Selbyville, Timothy, Tamya and Isaiah Wallace of Newport News, Va.); son, David Bruce Hudson of Frankford; and his longtime fur companion, his dog Kirby; sister, Geraldine Cobb Warren and husband Milton of Selbyville (children: Nicole Cobb Tharby and Nathan Cobb of Selbyville); brother, Norman Hudson of Frankford; uncle, Vernon Mitchell and wife Janice of Frankford; aunt, Betty Parker and husband Jimmy of Millsboro; and a host of cousins and friends in Sussex County.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald R. Hudson of Frankford (Omar); uncles: Granville Mitchell Sr. of Selbyville, Abby Mitchell of Dagsboro, and Paul Mitchell and Vinol Mitchell, both of Frankford; aunts: Irene Jones and Glenda Kline, both of Frankford.

A memorial service will be held at a later date due to COVID-19.
