Woman arrested after allegedly biting Dewey officer

Dewey Beach police have arrested a Townsend woman for resisting arrest after she allegedly bit an officer while in custody. 

About 12:15 a.m., July 2, officers were attempting to arrest a man in reference to an altercation when Kylee B. Pitts, 25, allegedly became disorderly and refused to comply with officers’ commands. When police attempted to arrest Pitts, she resisted and allegedly assaulted an officer. She continued to resist arrest as officers attempted to put her in a transport van, police said. 

Then, while in a holding cell at the police department, Pitts allegedly bit an officer. 

She was charged with felony resisting arrest with force or violence, three counts of misdemeanor offensive touching of a law enforcement officer, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. 

Pitts was transported to Sussex Correctional Institution, where she was placed under intoxication hold pending arraignment.
