St. Nicholas Tea kicks off VIA holiday fundraisers

November 19, 2022

The Village Improvement Association sponsored its 16th annual St. Nicholas Tea and Sleigh Boutique Nov. 4-6 at the VIA clubhouse on the Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach. The sold-out event was the first of many fundraising holiday events for the club.

Guests at the three-course, Victorian-style tea included many previous attendees along with those who enjoyed the tea for the first time. Coming from all over the Mid-Atlantic area, a number of participants have attended every tea.

A sleigh boutique with varied vendors, basket shop and wall of wreaths provided ample opportunities for holiday shopping. The Pick-a-Dilly lady, with her apron of surprises, circulated among the tables. VIA President Kate McKenzie greeted all guests.

Many hands make light work. St. Nicholas Tea Chair Phyllis Fischer and Co-Chair Georganna D’Archangelo coordinated the efforts of many VIA members to make this tea a success. VIA members served as hostesses for each of the five teas and tended tables individually decorated for the holidays. Most of the food items were also prepared by VIA volunteers.

The Village Improvement Association of Rehoboth Beach is a women’s civic and charitable organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. VIA is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and GFWC Delaware.
