Decorating Delmarva Holiday Festival of Lights gearing up
The team from Decorating Delmarva Holiday Festival of Lights is gearing up for the next opportunity to give back to the community. This charitable event has already given back over $9,000 to area schools and nonprofits from advance tickets sales. This weekend they will prepare to donate more to local middle schools that have participated in a tree decorating contest.
Eleven local middle Schools from Wicomico and Sussex counties participated in the first annual Tree Decorating Contest with Decorating Delmarva Holiday Festival of Lights. This contest was co-sponsored by the Rommel Ace Group who supplied all the trees to these schools. Each school had the opportunity to create their own theme for the holiday tree. Since opening night Nov. 15, these trees have been on display for visitors to vote for their favorite. The school which collects the most votes will receive $2,500 from the Create 1 Dream Foundation.
