Proceeds go to Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition
December 24, 2015

The fifth annual Dewey Goes Pink event Oct. 10 in Dewey Beach raised $82,000 for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, with a check presented Dec. 4 outside The Starboard.

The event was started by Starboard owner Steve "Monty" Montgomery and Adam Howard, Body Shop Fitness Center owner.

Over 2,000 runners and walkers participated in this year's event.

More than $200,000 has been donated to the coalition since the event began.

The coalition is the only statewide organization solely focused on breast health issues in the state. Funds raised by the event benefit the coalition's programs increasing awareness, to promote early detection, provide access to mammograms and support to the newly diagnosed or those facing recurrence.
