(GEORGETOWN) 2017 marks YEAR SEVEN of highly-acclaimed haunted attraction Screams at the Beach, which draws thousands of victims to the Georgetown area annually for fright and fun. Local horror junkies may be familiar with this year’s wildly successful mid-season events, Halfway to Halloween and Summer Fever, where portions of the scream park were open for one night only. However, there’s nothing quite like the official start of Screams season every year in October.

“It’s our seventh year, and it will go far beyond anything we’ve done before,” says Screams producer and Seaford native Brian Turner. In addition to perennial favorites (such as the haunted House of the Hollow, Crimson Woods hayride from hell, and Zombie Paintball) Screams will be adding two Escape Room experiences to their wide array of nightmares. Escape Rooms are themed with victims’ worst fears in mind, and include a claustrophobic Dissection challenge along with SK2, a serial killer’s Kitchen that only the bravest will survive.

Turner confirmed that the Plague Doctor (a  character who made a debut at July’s Summer Fever event) will indeed return to wreak further havoc on victims. “As the legend goes, the Doctor has become infected with the plague he desperately fought to prevent...and now Screams victims will have the chance to see his darker side.” A long-forgotten jailhouse on the outskirts of All Hallows will become the third addition for Year Seven--and a foreboding lair for the sickly Doctor as he stalks and seizes his prey. “Only the really brave victims will last longer than a few minutes inside the Prison of the Plague,” Turner predicts for the aptly-named attraction.

Official Year Seven tickets have been released for every level of victim: from the curious in search of a good scare, to the Super Fans who have been requesting season passes for years. “There’s something for everyone, no matter your budget or your phobias. We will find you in the dark, utterly terrify you, and make you scream. It’s our specialty, and something we take pride in,” Turner states in reference to the award-winning Scream Team of cursed characters. Over 100 local actors & haunt enthusiasts are employed by Screams every October, turning All Hallows Town into a shriek-filled, strobe-lit crowd of victims from near and far. Will you be one of them this season? It’s time to face your nightmares at YEAR SE7EN...only at Screams at the Beach.
