Baseball Buzz: May 27-29 Weekend Winners at Sports at the Beach!

Patriotic Pursuit 2017 ~

SATB hosted 77 teams during the very first 3-day tournament of 2017! Teams from over 200 miles away include: Astoria Storm, Guilderland Bulldogs & Guilderland Bulldogs Red, Twin Town Devil Cats, Twin Town Devil Cats Red & Twin Town Devil Cats Blue, Central Mass Tornadoes, Legends Prospect, Spring Renegades, Brooklyn Tigers, Devil Cats Gold, Greece Tornados Drees, Moe Joe Baseball, Devil Cats, Pittsburgh Stallions Baseball, Central Mass Hurricanes Green, Central Mass Hurricanes Navy & Central Mass Hurricanes White, NY Storm, and Pride Baseball from Charlottesville, VA!

Summer is officially here! From laser tag to mascots, the 3-day Patriotic Pursuit tournament weekend at SATB went swimmingly (and yes, that is absolutely a pun about our Pool's grand opening on Saturday). We hope everyone had a great time on the fields and on the beaches during the holiday...and, most importantly, took a moment to remember those who have sacrificed everything for our freedom.

The 9U Loudoun South Eagles went 5-0 for the weekend, ending with a 6-4 faceoff with the Mid State Mavericks. The Mid Atlantic Shockers Hendricks took the 10U championship versus the Legends Prospect of Middleton, MA. The Reston Warriors Black were victorious in the 11U division, coming out on top after Monday's championship opposite the Devil Cats Gold. The 12U Major division saw the Mid Atlantic Shockers Kimmel take home the trophy in a shutout against the Spring Renegades. Meanwhile in 12U Minor, the Middletown Mudcats pulled out ahead in a 8-6 match opposite Mid Atlantic Shockers Hastings. 13U's title went to the Vipers Baseball South, with a 6-0 weekend record after winning Monday's championship game. The East Coast Royals earned the 14U trophy while maintaining a 5-0 record and a 5-point lead on MVP Terps Blue during the final round. And finally, the 15-16U Division winners were Kent Island Bucs in a close 4-2 race for the championship against the Bombers Elite 15U of Georgetown, DE.
