Chocolate Lovers Unite! This Saturday in Rehoboth Beach is THE Place to Be...

March 15, 2017

If you see friends and neighbors walking aimlessly toward the Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center this weekend, appearing almost as if they’re in a trance, let us assure you that there’s nothing to worry about.

Well, nothing serious anyway.

They know where they’re going and what they’re doing and, more than likely, they’ve done it before. Many of us at the Oldfather Group have fallen under the exact same spell in years past, and will do so again this year and for many more years to come.

You see, it’s time once again for the annual event that is the Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival, with this year marking the 27th edition of the popular coastal Delaware gathering.

So, forget about the nor’easters, the long wait for spring to FINALLY arrive and any other issues you may be experiencing. This weekend is all about the chocolate, and we’re here to tell you that a visit to the Atlantic Sands on Saturday will be time very, very well spent.

Well, if you like chocolate that is. Be it cookies, or cakes, or pies, or fudge, or drinks or any other chocolate infused culinary creation, Rehoboth Beach is quite simply the place to be this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

It may not be Hershey, Pennsylvania but, for one-day only, the “Nation’s Summer Capital” is front and center in the chocolate universe.

And this year, organizers are happy to announce that all proceeds from the event will benefit the Harry K Foundation, which works to ensure that no child in Delaware goes to bed hungry. Seems fitting, right?

Twenty area restaurants and professional bakers are competing this year in several mouth-watering categories, including “brownie,” “cake,” “candy,” “cookie,” “pie,” “ice cream” and “showpiece."

Tickets for the event cost $30 for the first tasting, $25 for each of two VIP tastings and $20 for the 3 to 3:45 p.m. general admission event. Tickets include between 10 and 20 “tastes,” depending on the time of day and the type of ticket purchased.

You can obtain tickets to the 27th Annual Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival by calling the Harry K Foundation at 302-226-0675, visiting the organization at 313 South Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach or by clicking HERE.
