Elisama (Ellie) Garcia, CNA, cares for patients at the Bayhealth Kent Campus and has earned a Sunshine Award for her high quality compassionate care.
The Sunshine Award recognizes the vital team members who support our nursing staff and work closely together in order to provide compassionate care to patients. The Sunshine Award is an extension of the DAISY Award “as daisies need sunshine to grow.”
At Bayhealth, we have five core values: compassion, accountability, respect, integrity, and teamwork. Garcia demonstrates all of Bayhealth’s core values. Garcia is described as consistent, team player who is always more than happy to help another team member.
“There have been multiple times when patients and families have also verbally expressed their gratitude for her work ethic. She is prompt to answer call bells and truly embodies the phrase ‘any patient in need is your patient indeed’,” said Garcia’s nominator.
