Four Pillars of Meditation

There are four pillars to meditate Svaroopa® Yoga style. You need to sit comfortably as you use your tool (mantra) to focus on your inner Self allowing Grace to get you there.

It makes sense that your body should be comfortable as you sit for meditation. Otherwise, your mind will kick in and keep repeating “I am not comfortable. My body hurts. When will this be over so I can move?”  Sitting in a chair or sitting in Sukhasana (sweet pose) with appropriate propping will make you the most comfortable.

Once you are able to sit without your mind kicking in, you can the concentrate on saying your mantra. A mantra is a cosmic word or sound vibration. It is a method to quiet your mind so it can become still. When your mind is still, you can experience inner peace – you inner Self.

Your yoga practice turns you into a channel of Grace. You are calmer, more peaceful, more energized and relaxed, not only during yoga but all the rest of the time. Even the next day at work, and even when you spend time with dear ones (who can still be challenging), you are in a better mood.

It is Grace that turns you inward into an expansive way. In meditation, you invoke Grace when you repeat mantra and meditate on your own Self.
