ABOUT US

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society (RBFS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization operating in the State of Delaware. Founded in August of 1998, the Society is home to the award-winning Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival (November). In March 2016, the Society opened the Cinema Art Theater (CAT) in Lewes, DE. The CAT is a two-screen theater located in Dartmouth Plaza behind the Wawa on Coastal Hwy. 

Today, RBFS continues to provides first-run Indies (documentaries, features, international films) orogramming at the Cinema Art Theater (CAT). The Art house programs year-round film screening schedule (Wednesday – Sunday). Alternative programming includes The Metropolitan Opera live in HD, Exhibitions on Screen™ and National Theatre Live, plays from London’s West End. During the annual spring season, patrons can expect a diverse line-up of mini-Film Festivals. The Society supports local businesses and other nonprofits by providing its facilities for private rental events.

In 2023, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society achieved a major milestone, its 25th Silver Screen Anniversary. RBFS offers three leveles of membership to take advantage of reductions in films and even free stuff. When you donate or become a member of the Society, you’re also supporting the Art House Theater in Sussex County.
