AARP Chapter 5340 announces scholarship recipients
AARP Chapter 5340 announced their 2016 scholarship recipients are Kyle Atkinson-Steele and Sam Saxon, both of whom are Sussex Technical High School graduates.
Atkinson Steele will be attending Pace University in New York City. He will be studying communications. His objective is to become a news broadcaster and reporter.
Saxon will be attending University of Delaware. His major course of study will be civil engineering, and his objective is to become an engineer. The chapter annually awards two scholarships to local students who apply. Applications are secured through the guidance counselors. The next application process will be in the spring of 2017.
AARP meets September through June at the CHEER Community Center on Sandhill Road East of Georgetown.
