Acrylic pour workshop set for Sept. 26 at Nassau Valley Vineyards
Artist Lisa Westbrook of Touching Hearts Collective will offer a Three Oh! Tuesday Creative Experience from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Nassau Valley Vineyards near Lewes.
She will guide attendees through creating their own acrylic fluid and 3D sand art on a 12-by-12-inch canvas, inspired by the beautiful beaches of Delaware. Participants will meet in Gallery One of the winery.
Westbrook's calm, thorough style of explaining the basics of the acrylic pour and encouraging creativity will make participants feel right at home in a relaxed environment so they can unleash their inner artist and discover that they are capable of creating beautiful things.
Westbrook said, “Being near the ocean has super emotional and physical benefits. Just the color blue alone has an overwhelming feeling of peace and calm. The ebb and flow of the waves de-stimulates our brains, slows us down, allows us to relax, and actually feel more present and engaged.”
Scientific research also shows that ocean-based negative ions produced via water molecules have profound antidepressant effects, perhaps contributing to the endless appeal of beach settings.
All supplies and instruction will be provided. Nassau Valley Vineyards will provide participants with their first beverage of choice and a take-home tasting glass.
