Andrew Wilson joins Morris James health and government relations groups

April 17, 2017

Morris James LLP announced Andrew B. Wilson has joined the firm to assist its Health Care Industry Team and Government Relations Practice Group. His practice includes transactional, regulatory and legislative matters, including lobbying in the Delaware General Assembly, as well as representation before various state regulatory boards.

Wilson was previously the external affairs manager for the Medical Society of Delaware for four years, and he will provide policy and legal services to them as outside counsel in his new role, working directly with officials in the executive and legislative branches, and other key stakeholders. The society grew to the fourth most legislatively active group in Delaware during Wilson's period in-house there.

After graduating with his juris doctor cum laude from Albany Law School in 2010, he gained firsthand legislative experience as counsel and policy analyst in the New York State Senate. He also served as counsel and clerk to the New York State Senate Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, and Task Force on Government Efficiency. His experience also includes numerous Delaware political campaigns, serving in roles ranging from volunteer to statewide campaign manager.

Wilson was instrumental in the crafting and passage of Delaware's innovative telemedicine legislation, and he speaks regularly on the topic in local and national seminars. He also played instrumental roles in key Delaware health initiatives including telemedicine, opioid prescribing practices, scopes of practice, billing processes and modernizing insurance prior authorization.
