Art with a Purpose classes Oct. 19, 28 at Rehoboth Art League

October 14, 2017

Art can be very therapeutic, helping people to better endure and enjoy their lives. The Rehoboth Art League will offer two workshops that have therapeutic potential. Local instructor Jamie Moore will teach a Zentangle workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 19. Zentangle is a simple, step-by-step method of drawing that is very meditative, relaxing, and most importantly, easy to learn.

Using just a square paper tile and pen, participants will learn how to create an abstract drawing of repetitive patterns. These patterns are broken down into deliberate, easy strokes that build upon each other to make an art piece everyone can be proud of. Zentangle is a fun, soothing, portable and personal way to be creative. No prior artistic skill is required. The cost of the workshop is $45 per person.

Moore will also teach a Life Strips workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28. Life Strips is a self-reflecting art experience that mirrors an individual's life. Participants do not need to know how to draw; they will use lines, shapes, and colors with as many different media as desired to complete their strip. The cost of the workshop is $45 per person.

To register, go to www.rehobothartleague.org or call 302-227-8408, Ext. 112. These workshops will be held at the Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres.

The Rehoboth Art League is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making art accessible to all. This program is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The division promotes Delaware arts events on DelawareScene.com.
