Artie Lee Lavenets, dedicated to family

Artie Lee Lavenets, 83, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1934, in Millsboro, daughter of the late Harold Davidson Steele and Dorothy Mae (Littleton) Steele.

Mrs. Lavenets led a life dedicated to her family and her community. She worked raising a beautiful home, and was there for everything with her children. When she wasn't caring for her family, Mrs. Lavenets was caring for her friends, neighbors and any child who was in need. A kind and giving spirit, she would do anything for anyone. Mrs. Lavenets was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lavenets was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Mae Lavenets; and her son, Steve Henry Lavenets. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Henry Lavenets; her two daughters: Audrey Comm and her husband Andrew, and Jamie-Lyn Laurenzi and her husband Paul; her one grandson, Garrett Lavenets; her three great-grandchildren: Kiah Cave, Sean Dre McGee and Jaylin McGee; her four great-great-grandchildren: Jayson Tunnell, Jonah Brown, Izaiah McGee and Lincoln Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
