August is Delaware Produce Month at SoDel Concepts restaurants

August 23, 2016

Once again, SoDel Concepts is saluting Delaware produce the entire month of August. All nine of the Rehoboth Beach-based hospitality company's restaurants are featuring menu items that incorporate locally sourced products. Fish On in Lewes, for instance, recently offered tomatoes, green beans, nectarines, beets, potatoes and cucumbers from Fifer Orchards, and squash and corn from Magee Farms.

"We believe in supporting our local businesses," said Scott Kammerer, president of SoDel Concepts. "In Sussex County, agriculture is an important industry made up of many small businesses that have been family-owned for generations."

Supporting local farms is good for business, but it's also in good taste. "August is a harvest month for many of the state's most popular fruits and vegetables," said Doug Ruley, corporate chef for the company. "Nothing tastes better than produce that's in season."

The menus list the featured farms and growers. For more information, go to www.sodelconcepts.com.
