Bayhealth Child Care Center Project receives $50,000 from auxiliary

July 18, 2023

When Bayhealth employees are on the job, the Bayhealth Child Care & Early Learning Center located on the Kent Campus gives them peace of mind knowing their children can thrive in a safe environment.

As Bayhealth creates opportunities to further support its growing and diverse workforce, plans are ongoing for a second center to be located on the Bayhealth Sussex Campus. Thanks to a $50,000 gift from the Auxiliary of the Bayhealth Sussex Campus, fundraising for the project is off to an encouraging start.

The current center on the Kent Campus has served Bayhealth employees, and non-employees’ children when space allows, for several decades. About 70 children are cared for each day.

“We offer quality care to children in an environment that is safe, nurturing, and full of opportunities to grow and learn,” said Brenda Kibler. As the center director and a longtime Bayhealth employee, she and her highly trained staff are committed to serving Bayhealth families and their little ones. “We look forward to expanding our reach to the Sussex Campus.”

The $50,000 check was presented to Bayhealth Foundation President Lindsay Rhodenbaugh, DMin, during an annual luncheon hosted by the auxiliary.

Plans for the new center are drafted and include more space for children to play, learn and interact.

“We continue to be grateful to the auxiliary for their efforts to support Bayhealth families,” said Rhodenbaugh. He hopes others in the community will be inspired by the auxiliary’s generosity to give in support of the project.

“Our Bayhealth employees deliver on our mission of serving the community every day,” he said. “As a father and a grandparent, I appreciate the importance of having an award-winning, dedicated team caring for your child when you have to go to work and perform at your best, especially when you’re taking care of patients.”
