Beebe’s Joshua Bumgarner earns May L.O.V.E. Letter Award

Beebe Healthcare recently recognized Joshua Bumgarner, MRI technician, as the May recipient of the Living Our Values Every day (L.O.V.E.) Award.

All Beebe team members pledge to follow a system of values created several years ago. Patients and visitors at Beebe may see these value statements posted, and they are invited to help Beebe personnel be mindful of them every day.

Bumgarner helped a patient who was waiting for an MRI review and understand her medical records after he noticed she appeared puzzled and stressed.

"Josh asked if she needed help, then, when she said yes, proceeded to explain what she was reading," the nominator wrote. "We're all busy, and likely to get busier as the area grows. People like Josh who can take a minute to notice someone needs help, find out what help that person needs, and then provide that help are an asset to the hospital."

Bumgarner demonstrates many of the Beebe values, including building trusting relationships with compassion and kindness, and acting with passion and love for others to make a difference.

Beebe Healthcare's L.O.V.E. Letter Recognition Program is similar to an employee of the month program. Team members are encouraged to send L.O.V.E. notes to other team members during the course of the month. A committee then evaluates the L.O.V.E. notes and selects one to receive the monthly L.O.V.E. Letter. 

Winners are announced in a surprise ceremony in which the committee visits the winner in his or her department and presents the award. Employees selected for the award receive a parking space in the parking garage for one month; a $100 gift card; 100 points toward Beebe L.O.V.E. Notes merchandise; a letter of congratulations and personal visit from members of the executive team; the employee's photo added to the L.O.V.E. Letter wall plaque; a letter to the team member's director, and department recognition.
