Behavioral health consultant Carol Marquez-Dyer joins La Red Health Center

March 20, 2017

La Red Health Center announces the hiring of Carol Marquez-Dyer as a behavioral health consultant at the Milford family practice site. She is a bilingual licensed clinical social worker with more than 12 years of experience.

Marquez-Dyer’s position is partially funded by a grant from the Arsht-Cannon Fund at the Delaware Community Foundation to increase access to mental health care at the Milford site. Marquez-Dyer receives referrals from Milford family practitioners once a behavioral health need is identified.

She has a master of social work degree and a bachelor of science degree in recreation from Delaware State University, and she is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Division of Child Mental Health. Marquez-Dyer's work experience spans multiple settings including nonprofits, the State of Delaware Division of Social Services and private practice.

Marquez-Dyer says, "I decided to practice at La Red Health Center because of the many different services that this wonderful agency provides. Whether it is to help someone with medical or behavioral concerns, La Red provides quality care to all regardless of economic status or background. My desire is to help empower and advocate for those that generally may not have a voice. In the great words of Nelson Mandela, ‘If you want the cooperation of humans around you, you must make them feel they are important - and you do that by being genuine and humble.’"

La Red, a multi-site health center in Sussex County, provides quality, patient-centered care to the diverse members of the community. The centers provide primary healthcare for all ages as well as behavioral health services, prenatal and women's healthcare. Dental services are available in the Georgetown office.
