Bicycle raffle to benefit Read Aloud Delaware May 24

Spring is the best time of the year for Delawareans to get outdoors and enjoy the state’s backroads and trails. Read Aloud Delaware, as part of a new fundraiser, is raffling off a new Sun Retro Cruiser bicycle.

The cruiser was generously donated by Brian and Megan Kellman, owners of Lewes Cycle Sports, and raffle proceeds will support Read Aloud’s mission to create a lifelong impact through early childhood literacy. Participants will be helping every child in Delaware acquire the foundational literacy skills to succeed in school and life.

The Sun Retro, valued at $400, is a refresh of the classic cruiser design, staying true to the spirit of simplicity while adding modern design.

The 18.5-inch bicycle features a single-speed drive train and KT coaster brake. Its 26-inch cruiser tires are mounted on alloy rims with steel spokes.

The winner will be selected at a live online drawing at 12 p.m., Friday, May 24.
