The Birthday Project receives funds from Fulton Bank

February 21, 2018

Fulton Bank presented a check to The Birthday Project, a Sussex County 501c3 nonprofit serving children in need. The proceeds came from participation in the annual Grotto Pizza Parade of Trees competition.

The Birthday Project is an anonymous program that matches adults up with a child in need whose birthday falls on or near the adult's birthday. All children are enrolled through participating organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs, West Rehoboth Children and Youth Program, and First State Community Action. Every dollar raised through events and sponsorships goes directly to the organization.

The organization has grown to over 400 participants in the past year, and another 200 children are waiting to join. The Birthday Project organizers are grateful to Fulton Bank Rehoboth Branch for this donation and sponsorship. Their goal is to match every eligible child in Sussex County with an adult born on or near their birthday. Their purpose is to honor how special each child is by celebrating the day they were born.
