Bowling for Good event held at Lefty’s

March 15, 2024

Multiplying Good, the nation’s leading nonprofit focused on fueling personal growth and leadership through public service, hosted its inaugural Bowling For Good fundraiser at Lefty’s Alley & Eats in Lewes March 8, to support the Delaware Students In Action program in Sussex County.

SIA is a unique youth service, learning, leadership and recognition program. It combines immersive training, opportunities for engagement and a prestigious recognition platform that honors service achievement. The program also empowers youth to make a positive impact on issues they care about, and harness their purpose and passion to build a brighter and better community. During the 2022-23 school year, 10 SIA teams, comprising 335 youth in Sussex County, participated in SIA. They activated 54 service projects, of which 98% benefited Delawareans; they impacted the lives of over 20,000 people; and they had a financial impact to Sussex County of over $133,000.

The bowling tournament featured more than 40 adults and youth competing for the top three best overall scores to earn prizes. The success of the evening was due in large part to the sponsors for this year’s event, including Big Fish Charitable Foundation, Carl M. Freeman Foundation, Preston Automotive, SoDel Cares, DRB Homes, M&T Bank, Jeanine O’Donnell State Farm Agency, the Fidance Family, Robin Thompson - Northrop Realty and Sussex Eye Center.

Thanks to all the sponsors and bowlers, Multiplying Good was able to raise over $7,000 for the Sussex County Students In Action program at this inaugural event.
