Broadway Bound at Crooked Hammock rescheduled to March 28

To benefit Clear Space Theatre
March 19, 2018

It's curtains up for Clear Space Theatre Group as they welcome the 2018 season with a little help from their friends. Make that quite a bit of help thanks to "Beers for Broadway," a three-month fundraising effort hosted by Crooked Hammock Brewery in Lewes. The family-centric happy hour finale from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, is hosted by Jack Lingo Realtor. The original date was postponed due to inclement weather.

"We are so fortunate to have Clear Space Theatre within our community, showcasing and inspiring theatre arts for enthusiasts of all ages. We also thank La Vida Hospitality Group for supporting this cause," said Bryce Lingo, associate broker, vice president, Jack Lingo, Realtor. Now in its third year of supporting local nonprofits, La Vida's Crooked Hammock is donating 25 cents for every pint of beer sold during January, February and March to support Clear Space Theatre's various community programs.

Throughout Wednesday's Happy Hour entertainment there will be performances by Broadway Bound, Spotlight on Young Performers and Legends of Broadway, an over 50 group - all to highlight the variety of Clear Space Theatre programs offered to all age groups in the community.

The Crooked Hammock Broadway Bound event March 21 will focus on Clear Space education programs for all ages," said Wesley Paulson, Clear Space Theater's executive director. "I look forward to sharing the talents of our future Broadway stars with our friends at Crooked Hammock." One of the evening's highlights include student solos, plus duets with professional performers along with testimonials about the program.

Happy Hour guests may also take part in a silent auction made possible by many generous contributors throughout the Cape Region, including two Clear Space Theatre tickets paired with a tasting at the award-winning a(Muse) restaurant; a Lewes Basket with passes to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, the HMS DeBraak exhibit and a kite for the Kite Festival. There's also a three-month Health & Wellness membership and four day passes to the YMCA, plus gift baskets for Mother’s Day from Kids Cottage and another from the Milton Theatre and Historical Society. Other auction items include theatre tickets to shows from the Clear Space Theatre 2018 season including the "Wizard of Oz," "Willy Wonka," and "Mary Poppins."

Crooked Hammock will continue to donate 25 cents for each pint of beer through March 31. Open daily year-round from 11 to 1 a.m., Crooked Hammock is located at 36707 Crooked Hammock Way in Lewes. Call 302-644-SUDS (7837) or go to www.crookedhammock.com.
