Bruce Alan Arvey, former cook

Bruce Alan Arvey, 56, of Laurel passed away at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford Saturday April 21, 2018.

Bruce was born Wednesday May 31, 1961 to the late Walter Arvey Jr. and Faye West. He grew up in Parsonsburg, Md. and he had a lot of memories growing up there and always reminisced about it.

He was a cook in his earlier years, but later on he was disabled. He had a special friend, Ethel Breasure, and he loved all of her family, especially Sue, who was his stock car racing partner. Bruce also had a special sister, Pam Gray, who was his best friend and always there for him.

Bruce is also survived by a brother, David Arvey; several nieces and nephews; two daughters, Amber Sockeriter-Barren and Paige Sockeriter-Clarey; one son, Joseph Arvey; four grandsons, and two granddaughters he would have done anything for, to be in their lives. He also had two special canines, Bruno and Baby, and a cat named Mary, whom he loved, and Flash, whom he loved, who also was Sue's dog.

Memorial services and dinner will be held Sunday, May 6, at 4 p.m. at the Millsboro Scout Hut, 219 State St., Millsboro.
