Butterfly Bolt a heartening event

October 24, 2023

On Oct. 6, a group of friends and I attended the first Butterfly Bolt hosted by What Is Your Voice. The day was beautiful and the participants were enthusiastic about supporting this mission. Domestic violence is a dark and pervasive issue in Delaware. WIYV is the light that guides women and children to a better life. One that is free of violence and abuse.

It was heartening to see our elected officials travel from Dover to support Jaqueline Sterbach and her dedicated team of counselors and peer advocates. Our spirits were raised when we saw that several young people, students from Sussex Academy, were there and participated enthusiastically. Community members from all walks of life showed their support. Domestic violence touches all of us one way or another. Keep up your inspired work, WIYV. We'll be back for the 2nd annual Butterfly Bolt!
