CAMP Rehoboth’s ‘HeART on a String’ closing auction set May 26

May 16, 2018

The public is invited to participate in CAMP Rehoboth's exciting art auction and fundraiser "HeART on a String," featuring the work of 18 artists on display in the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center through Saturday, May 26. The artworks are also available for viewing – and bidding - on CAMP Rehoboth's online bidding site. This invitational exhibition showcases both emerging and established artists who have joined together to raise funds for CAMP Rehoboth's arts programming, and have fun in the process.

Enjoy these smaller works with a big impact! Participating artists include J.S. Adams, Sondra N. Arkin, Mary Byrd, Rod Cook, Donna Deely, Sam Dixon, Jane Duffy, Yvonne Frankis, Vincent Hughes, Terry Isner, Kim Klabe, Jane Knaus, Jeffrey Todd Moore, Bev Morgan, Michael Muller, Renata Price, and Lois Schlacter.

Art tugs at the heartstrings, and this art will capture everyone’s. The strawberries in Price's martini are particularly inviting. Deely's "Lobstah Buoys" conjures up memories of lobster rolls and weathered old seafood shacks. Muller remembers Steve Elkins, who was truly an angel and hero to so many people. Moore also honors Elkins and CAMP Rehoboth. The heart in his work is falling, but there is a structure to hold it up and recover.

The "HeART on a String" exhibition will culminate in a Closing Bid Reception from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, May 26, at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, 37 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach. Attendees can socialize, enjoy refreshments, view the art in person, and continue bidding until it closes during the reception, when winning bidders will be announced. Bidders need not be present to win.
