Cancer Support Community holds Whoop It Up fundraiser

April 12, 2018

The Cancer Support Community of Sussex County held its Annual Whoop It Up fundraiser April 2 at Buffalo Wild Wings. The event is to celebrate the opening of baseball season.

The focus of the game viewing was the Phillies vs. the Mets but the game was snowed out in New York. The event featured silent auctions, 50/50 raffles, cornhole, CSC beer mugs for sale and food donated by Buffalo Wild Wings. As the largest professionally led, nonprofit network of cancer support worldwide, the Cancer Support Community, including its Gilda’s Club affiliates, is dedicated to ensuring that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.

CSC achieves its mission through three areas: direct service delivery, research and advocacy. The organization includes an international network of affiliates that offer the highest-quality social and emotional support for people impacted by cancer, as well as a community of support available online and over the phone. The Research and Training Institute also conducts cutting-edge psychosocial, behavioral, and survivorship research.
