Candy Abbott to sign two books at Browseabout Dec. 2

November 28, 2017

In a rare appearance, Candy Abbott, author and owner of Fruitbearer Publishing LLC, is set to greet customers and sign her two recently released titles: “G is For God,” her long-awaited children's picture book, and “I've Never Loved Him More: A Husband's Alzheimers, A Wife's Devotion.” Join her at Browseabout Books, 133 Rehoboth Ave. Rehoboth Beach, from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 2.

“G is for God” has arrived from the printer just in time for the Browseabout signing and Christmas giving. This soft cover ABC book approaches difficult biblical concepts in friendly terms that will spark little ones' love and curiosity of Scripture. It's never too early to begin reading to children about the goodness of God. This book, beautifully illustrated by award-winning artist Nancy Munger, provides a solid foundation for tender minds, hearts and spirits. Even though the book is written for ages 4 to 8, the young at heart will enjoy this book. It would also be a welcome addition to any church library or Sunday school curriculum.

Katie Nelson of Delmarva Christian Writers' Fellowship said, "My daughter loves books. I've been searching all over for an ABC book that provides a basic overview of biblical principles and haven't been able to find one, so I can hardly wait for the book signing at Browseabout."

“I've Never Loved Him More” is a chronological journey into the unknown and sometimes scary, dark world of Alzheimer's disease. Yet, this book is anything but dark and scary. It is delightful, funny and heartwarming. This book gives a captivating account of how a four-decade marriage beset by Alzheimer's can still exude romance and purpose. It begins at the point of diagnosis and goes through the mild and early-moderate phases of the disease. Writing not only from experience and the heart but also from her vital connection with God, Abbott tells the unvarnished, sometimes raw truth with the sincere motive of helping others in a similar situation.

But this is not just for caregivers who are dealing with a debilitating health issue. “I've Never Loved Him More” is a love story that would inspire any married couple or those who plan to marry. The author's story demonstrates what it means to live out the "in sickness or in health" vows.

Sara Lewes, author of “Called to Pray,” says, "Candy's book pierces my heart on two levels: first, the up-close-and-personal intimate details of caring for a radically changed husband with God's patience and humor; and secondly, a personal, holy nudge for me to respond with equal kindness and grace to the simple frustrations of daily living with my own husband. With great wisdom, Candy breathes life into a humanly impossible situation by reminding us that with God, all things are possible. Instead of grudgingly resigning herself to serve Drew ['I have to do this for him'], she demonstrates God's perspective of unending love, no matter what the cost ['I get to do this for him]."

Masterfully and sincerely written, this work of the heart will leave an indelible mark on each reader.
