Cape boys’ tennis smashes Seaford 5-0

Vikings follow with shutout of Central

The Cape boys’ tennis team shut out Seaford April 9, as it moved to 2-0 with a 5-0 win over the Blue Jays.

Oliver Townsend defeated Seaford’s Jaime Roblero-Puac 6-0, 6-2 at first singles. Cape second singles player Alejandro Justiniani downed the Jays’ Omar Diaz-Cabada 6-1, 6-2. Cape’s third singles player Nathaniel Hoang topped Seaford’s Djefley Joseph 6-0, 6-1.

Cape’s first doubles team of Trent Kauffman and Krish Prattipati earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Seaford’s Dens Nero Augustin and Jaden Tingle. Cape’s second doubles duo of Brody Trewartha and Sullivan Naden won a 6-0, 6-0 contest with Seaford’s Dylan Rodriguez-Lopez and Connor Spicer.

The Vikings returned to the courts the next day to earn a 5-0 win over Sussex Central. 

Townsend defeated Dawson Roth 6-0, 6-2 at first singles. Justiniani won a hard-fought second singles match over Nicholas Ables 7-6 (7-5), 6-3. At third singles, Hoang topped Jonah Klimitchev 6-1, 6-4. In doubles action, Kauffman and Prattipati won 6-1, 6-0 over Landen Kulp and Giovanni Tiano in first doubles, and Trewartha and Naden shut out Ethan Lewis and Zachary Ortiz in second doubles.
