Cape Henlopen Elks donate $2,000 to Community Resource Center

February 25, 2024

As in years past, Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 of Lewes seeks and receives monies in the form of grants from the Elks National Foundation to support worthy causes in and around the community.

Cape Henlopen Elks recently presented a $2,000 donation to the Community Resource Center in Rehoboth Beach for its food rescue program. CRC’s program provides nutritious food to those who are hungry, and helps clients make ends meet by providing rescued food from local grocery stores and restaurants. More than 3,000 bags of food are distributed each month.

CRC also operates a baby pantry, a day center for individuals who are homeless, a job assistance center and a community outreach program.

One of Cape Henlopen Elks' many goals is to assist CRC in the noble work it does to support those who are underfed or otherwise underserved in the Sussex County area.
