Children's Beach House sets Beach Barbecue Aug. 26

July 15, 2017

This year's Annual Beach Barbecue benefitting the Children's Beach House will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26, at the beach house at 1800 Bay Ave. in Lewes.

Event cochairs Dr. Robert Wiltshire, Carrie Lingo, Melissa Jones, Mitch Selbiger and Jody Bergeron invite attendees to enjoy Bollywood by the Bay.

The evening festivities will include cocktails, dinner and entertainment, all with a Bollywood flair! The barbecue event will also feature an exclusive art show and sale, showcasing works of 10 talented local artists.

Started by former trustee Emilee Reynolds 15 years ago, this popular Sussex County event has become known as an end-of-summer celebration not to be missed.

Proceeds support Children's Beach House programs, serving at-risk children ages 7-18 statewide. The Youth Development Programs include year-round case management, weekend enrichment programs and summer camp experiences, and are designed to help children overcome the limitations presented by their disabilities.

Children's Beach House is a Delaware-based 501c3 nonprofit organization that fulfills founder Lydia Chichester du Pont's vision to help children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities. Children's Beach House has been expanding opportunities for children since 1937.
