Cinco de Mayo Chihuahua races held in Dewey Beach

May 17, 2018

The 7th annual Dewey Beach Cinco de Mayo Chihuahua Races, benefiting the Dewey Beach Patrol, were held May 5 at the Beach Patrol headquarters.

The races, with cash prizes, featured 16 Chihuahuas, racing in pairs of two, on a fenced-off course. Some of the dogs were veterans of the race or learned quickly, while others were distracted or just didn’t see a reason for racing.
