May 30, 2018

Cape Henlopen High School teacher Matthew Lindell received a classroom grant from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Lindell teaches  AP American History and AP Government and Politics. He was nominated by Katherine Maher, a junior member of the Col. David Hall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a Cape Henlopen graduate.

Maher said, "You can tell that Mr. Lindell is passionate about the subject of history. He loves teaching and he makes class exciting. He goes above and beyond to make sure that his students excel on the Advanced Placement exams."

Lindell plans to use the classroom grant to purchase supplemental study materials for his AP History students, which will help them be better prepared for the AP U.S. History Exam. The College Board said the exam is the equivalent of a two-semester introductory college or university U.S. history course.

The DAR is a nonpolitical women's service organization with the mission of historic preservation, and promoting patriotism and education. Members can trace their direct lineal descent from a patriot who supported the Revolutionary War.
