David Ford Richman, longtime banker

March 14, 2024

David Ford Richman, 80, of Lewes, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa.

David is now at peace with his wife, Barbara, who passed away in September 2021. They had been married for 56 years, and he missed her terribly. He and Barbara moved to lower Delaware from Delaware County, Pa., in 1994. He was a senior loan officer in the banking industry for many years in Pennsylvania and Delaware. He then worked as a sales associate at C.P. Diver in Delaware until his retirement.

David was a caring and sentimental person who adored his family, and wanted to help others. He was a very creative and patient person who enjoyed woodworking, and restoring antiques and collectibles. He will be deeply and genuinely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Hopkins; his two grandchildren, Michael Hopkins and wife Kristy Lee, and Kristy Ann Hopkins; and four great-grandchildren, Alia, Madison, Sofiya and Michael. David is also survived by his sister, Anne Maria Bradley.

He was extremely grateful to the long-standing caring team at Fresenius Kidney Care Center in Rehoboth, and to his dear niece, Dr. Trudy Demko, for her unwavering love, advice, and support to endure his chronic kidney condition.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, March 22, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where a viewing will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, 660 Pilottown Road, Lewes.
