Delaware Arthritis welcomes new physician

August 8, 2023

Delaware Arthritis recently announced rheumatologist Anusha Vuppala, MD, has joined the practice.

Originally from India, Vuppala completed her internal medicine pediatric residency followed by a rheumatology fellowship at LSU Shreveport.

Her decision to move to Delaware was driven by the desire to be closer to family.

Rheumatology is Vuppala’s passion, and she said being a rheumatologist has been an incredibly rewarding journey, primarily due to the profound physician-patient relationships unique to this specialty.

Autoimmune conditions can be debilitating, significantly impacting patients’ quality of life. Vuppala said witnessing the positive impact on their lives and working toward improving their well-being is truly gratifying.

Delaware Arthritis specializes in treating a wide range of autoimmune conditions, such as lupus, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, gout and vasculitis, to name a few. The treatment options include a variety of immunosuppressive medications, IV therapies for autoimmune conditions, and diverse joint injections for osteoarthritis. The primary goal is to provide the very best care for patients.

Outside of Vuppala’s professional life, she finds joy in spending time with her husband and child, going for long walks and experimenting with cooking. “Staying in Lewes has been an absolute delight, and I am genuinely honored and privileged to be able to serve the wonderful community of Lewes,” she said,

Vuppala is currently accepting new patients. To book an appointment, call Delaware Arthritis at 302-644-2633.
