Delaware Tech alumni celebrate 30 years of radiologic technology grads

June 6, 2018

More than 60 Delaware Tech radiologic technology program alumni came together for a mixer at the Crooked Hammock in Lewes to celebrate 30 years of program graduates. Attendees had the opportunity to reconnect with fellow classmates and instructors, and meet other alumni working in the field.

“I enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with fellow Rad Tech alumni to celebrate 30 years of graduates from the program,” said Morgan Jones, radiologic technology instructor.

The program began at the Owens Campus in Georgetown in 1986, with the first graduating class in 1988 having just three graduates. In 1988, the Wilmington campus began a rad tech associate degree program, co-sponsored with Christiana Care. This began as a partnership in the early 1980s, which allowed rad tech certificate graduates and technologists to take five additional courses at Delaware Tech to earn an associate of applied science degree. The first graduating class from the Wilmington campus was in 1990. Since 1988, Delaware Tech has awarded 772 radiologic technology associate degrees.
