Docent information drop-in set Feb. 16 at Rehoboth Art League

February 11, 2017

The Rehoboth Art League is offering a new docent informational drop-in from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Peter Marsh Homestead. The dedicated team of docents that staffs the organization's historic Peter Marsh Homestead from May through October is often the first face that art league visitors encounter. The group of docents will be expanding in 2017, and this event will inform those interested in learning more about docent training.

Homestead docents provide informal tours of the historic home, present information about the formal garden, and help guide visitors to the league's campus. New volunteer docents can assist with staffing this regional treasure on weekdays and weekends. The activities of the Rehoboth Art League annually impact more than 20,000 community members.

Those interested in the art league’s docent program might have an interest in Sussex County or Rehoboth Beach history, or in antiquities and decorative arts. Ideal docent candidates will also have a willingness to help campus visitors better understand RAL history. No prior docent training is required. RSVPs to jay@rehobothartleague.org are encouraged, but not required.
