Domino efect likely if parcel is rezoned

August 26, 2016

As a resident of the Breakwater development off Gills Neck Road, I am opposed to the requested B-1 zoning change.

The proposed Village Center is not needed for the local residents and will create additional traffic on already heavily loaded roads. The prior C-1 zoning change was denied because of the changes in the character of Kings Highway, the flood of traffic coming off Route 1, the potential impact on first responders and emergency vehicles, and the increased traffic in a school zone.

All of these problems hold true with the B-1 change, and then the potential for a domino effect where multiple B-1 zones are created on the surrounding properties, ultimately resulting in the C-1 density that was previously denied.

Please vote against this rezoning request.
