Don’t allow LLCs to make rules in Rehoboth

November 17, 2017

Did anyone hear any Rehoboth Beach existing official or candidate mention anything about allowing LLCs to vote before last August's election?

I certainly didn't, even though I had many long conversations about their concerns and suggestions on how to make our town better. I heard that we should keep the rules in place that are working to make the town a more livable place, i.e., noise ordinances, better trash regulations, beach tent restrictions, etc.

Why all of a sudden are we so concerned about giving people who don't live here (yet they are using our residential areas as profit centers) a vote as to what goes on in our city? I understand that some people who do live here full time or use their beach homes as a private family retreat have their homes registered as an LLC.

But corporations, and that's what the LLCs who only own their house as a money maker are, shouldn't be able to make rules that affect all us full-time residents.
