Don’t cast aspersions on others’ diets

April 7, 2017

After reading several letters regarding the pros and cons of both animal-based foods and plant-based foods, I have a few more comments to offer.

First, Dorothy Greet (among others) are entitled to their opinion and views regarding the "benefits" of a plant-based diet. However, from the tone of the letters written, they should get off their high horse and realize not everyone wants to follow their lifestyle (myself included).

I enjoy both meat and vegetables, and try to balance things out. Second, the reason I say get off your high horse is when you have to sign a letter "certified in plant-based nutrition." it appears to me you are trying to impress people of your expertise.

Taking an online course or two-day class which issues a certificate for just showing up may make one a little more knowledgeable in this area than me, but I will follow the advice from my healthcare professional who has much more training and experience on the subject.

I do not cast aspersions on those who choose to be vegan/vegetarians, but at the same time, don't cast aspersions on my diet lifestyle, either.
