The driver sought in connection with a hit and run in Dewey Beach surrendered herself to the Dewey Beach Police Department April 27.

Lt. Cliff Dempsey said 46-year-old Colleen Glasco of Milton has been charged with multiple offenses from the April 25 accident at the intersection of Coastal Highway northbound and Dickinson Avenue where responding officers found a center median light pole in the roadway. Subsequent review of the department’s crime camera system showed a dark-colored vehicle failed to negotiate the turn properly, collided with the light pole and continued north on Coastal Highway out of town limits. Two Dewey Beach police crime cameras were also destroyed, police said.

Dempsey said Glasco has been charged with felony criminal mischief resulting in damages exceeding $5,000, improper turn, and leaving the scene of a property collision accident. Following her arrest, she was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 in Georgetown, he said, and she is expected to appear at the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.
