DryZone shows support for Habitat for Humanity

Weller Does Delmarva celebrates 200th show
July 19, 2017

Delaware residents participated in contests and drawings July 8 at DryZone's storefront on Beach Highway near Ellendale to raise support for Sussex County Habitat for Humanity.

The event also marked Jim Weller's 200th episode of his radio show, “Weller Does Delmarva,” which was broadcast live on Delaware 105.9 as people spun a prize wheel and entered to win a free crawlspace encapsulation valued at $5,000 to $30,000, depending on the size of the winner's home.

People also could purchase 2-by-4 pieces of lumber at $5 each to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Community Bank matched those purchases for the first two hours of the three-hour event.

“DryZone has been very supportive,” said Jay Gundy, development director for Sussex County Habitat for Humanity. “I think Habitat's success is really built around the people who get involved.”

Gundy said Habitat has several projects in the works in Sussex County, including builds in Ellendale and Milton, and neighborhood revitalization projects in Seaford and Laurel.
